The Monroe Street Midway: Detroit's interactive green space officially opened for the summer this Memorial Day Weekend in The Heart of Downtown Detroit and we're here to give you the details.
The Midway is open Wednesday-Sunday and most activities are free to the public
Hours:
Wednesdays and Thursdays
11a-7p: All Ages
7p-9p: 18+ with ID
Fridays and Saturdays
11a-8p: All Ages
8p-11p: Ages 21+ with ID
Sundays
11a-9p: All Ages
Activities:
The Midway contains Two Basketball Courts, a Roller Skating Rink ($13 which includes skate rentals), a 9 hole mini golf course, rotating food truck and pop up shops, games, live music and more. Checkout my video here of this past weekend's events.
Ambiance:
Loved the colorful murals that cover this green space, makes a perfect place for pictures. The Midway sits directly across from Campus Martius and the surrounding buildings make a beautiful backdrop.
The Midway is open all summer long and a perfect outdoor activity for all ages. This weekend's events included: balloon art, face painting, The Detroit Shrimp & Fish BBQ Food Truck, and Free Spray Painting.
